Is Tricount really free?

Yes. Since the bunq acquisition, Tricount is free, ad-free and unlimited. The old Tricount Premium (export, stats, personal mode) was removed, though: those features are no longer available in the new app.

Does CountClub have ads?

No. CountClub is free and completely ad-free. Every feature is unlocked for everyone.

Can you import Tricount data into CountClub?

There's no one-click Tricount import. CountClub supports CSV import; for Tricount, the most reliable path is to recreate the group and re-enter ongoing expenses, or start fresh for a new trip.

Is Tricount owned by a bank?

Yes, Tricount has been owned by bank bunq since 2022. The app promotes a bunq card that auto-logs expenses; using that card remains optional.

Does Tricount have a web version you can use on a computer?

Yes, Tricount offers web access alongside its mobile apps. So does CountClub: the site serves the same account as the app, and the calculators (who owes what, rent split) work in a browser without even creating an account.

How do you change the currency in Tricount?

The currency is set when you create the tricount, and each expense can be entered in another one. CountClub works the same way, with sixteen currencies converted at the rate of the day the expense happened: the original amount stays visible next to the converted one.

How do you split expenses on Tricount?

You add an expense, say who paid, then who it is shared between, equally or not. CountClub keeps that flow and adds several payers on one expense, voice entry, and receipt photos read automatically.
