Feature · Scheduled closure

Close your count at the right moment.

Scheduled closure

At the end of a trip, a weekend or a flatshare, you want to lock balances before a late addition reopens everything. CountClub lets you schedule closure for the date of your choice. A banner warns everyone, then adding is cleanly blocked.

How it works

The count goes through three states visible to everyone: open, closing (blue banner), closed (red banner). Any member can schedule, cancel or reopen — the decision stays collective and transparent, not locked behind an admin.

    01Step 1

    Open the count settings

In the "Closure" tab, you schedule the close. All members have access to this action.

    02Step 2

    Pick the timing

Immediate, 24 h, 48 h, or custom date and time via the native picker. The timing is visible to everyone — nobody discovers the closure the day before.

    03Step 3

    A banner warns all members

While closure isn't in effect, a blue banner shows the scheduled date, clickable for details. Members can still add expenses.

    04Step 4

At the set time, adding is blocked

The banner turns red, the app blocks new expenses. Transfers between members stay possible. Any member can extend, cancel or reopen the count later.

Honestly

What you should also know.

No overblown promises. Here are the real limits of the feature, to avoid surprises.

Closure is a collective decision: any member can schedule it, cancel it, or reopen the count. We pick transparency over an admin lock.

Settlements (internal transfers between members) stay possible after closure — only adding expenses is frozen.

A closed count is different from an archived count: closure freezes adding, archiving removes it from the dashboard. You can do one without the other, or both.
