How is this different from a joint bank account?

A joint account holds money, receives transfers, and ties both partners together legally. CountClub is a tracking tool: each of you keeps your own bank account, cards and freedom. The app only tells you who paid what and who owes what.

We don't earn the same. How do we split fairly?

Set the count's default split (say, 60 % / 40 %). Every expense follows that rule automatically. You can override for a specific expense if needed.

Some expenses are for one person only (doctor, haircut). How do I exclude my partner?

Simply don't add them to the shared count. Only the expenses you add are split. Or add them with yourself as the only participant.

What happens to the data if we split up one day?

Both of you keep access to the count, with full history to verify the accounts. Once settled, you can archive or close it. Either person can also delete their CountClub account at any time (full GDPR anonymisation).

We often travel abroad together. Do we need Count+?

If you want to log expenses in the local currency (dollars, yen, baht...) with automatic conversion, yes. Otherwise you can convert manually before entry and stay on the free tier.

Is any bank data connected?

No. CountClub doesn't connect to any bank account, has zero access to your transactions. You add expenses manually (or via receipt photo). No sensitive financial data with us.

How it works

A shared count that runs in the background — as quiet as a shared Note, but it does the maths for you.

01Step 1

Create a permanent couple count

Name it simply ("Us"), add your partner, set the default split (50/50, or 60/40 if your incomes differ). You'll rarely touch it again.

02Step 2

Add each shared expense as you go

Groceries, rent, Netflix, restaurant, parents' gift: ten seconds each time. Personal spending (haircut, clothes, lunch at work) doesn't belong here.

03Step 3

Check in whenever you want

Weekly, monthly, at Christmas — you see who's ahead. A single transfer settles it. No mandatory cadence.

04Step 4

Keep the history long-term

Expenses and settlements are tracked. Useful to see how much you spent on holidays last year, or if accounts ever need to be clarified.
